Programme Management
What we do
The programme management team help to develop the economic strategy for Northamptonshire by identifying local priorities and matching them with funding opportunities from the East Midlands Development Agency. All of our projects and programmes are geared to achievement of three strategic objectives:
- Raising Productivity: 'Enabling Businesses and people to become more competitive and Innovative'
- Ensuring Sustainability: 'Investing in and protecting our natural resources, environment and other assets such as Infrastructure'
- Achieving Equality: 'Helping all people to realise their full potential and work effectively together to enrich our lives and our communities.
Our Economic Strategy and Investment Plan detail the aims, objectives and project areas that we can help to support. The overarching economic priorities we support for Northamptonshire are:
- To raise levels of business competitiveness, employment creation and new business formation well beyond average UK rates
- To increase the skill level in the workforce to a level equivalent to the most globally competitive regional economies
- To ensure that communities function effectively and overcome barriers to participation associated with socio-economic disadvantage
- To develop effective cross-boundary relationships in order to derive significant additional economic advantage
- To develop and apply a strong, unique and easily recognisable Northamptonshire brand.
We work with local and regional partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors to identify where the intervention is needed and which organisations will deliver the projects that are funded.
How we can help
Work with partners to identify market failure and effective solutions, prioritising the projects that will have the greatest impact with sustainable outcomes.
Procure solutions for the priorities identified by working with a range of public, private and third sector partners in order to develop applications for funding.
Monitor and evaluate projects to ensure that they are delivering value for money for the public sector investment made.
Work in partnership with regional programmes funded by EMDA to maximise local targeting of these support and development services.
Promote available funding programmes in a transparent and accountable way to ensure best value is achieved for public investment.
