Northamptonshire businesses sign up for expansion at International Business Day 2010
Keen to be part of an event which will see the coming together of experts in finance and trade from across the region, Northamptonshire businesses are signing up for the International Business Day conference and exhibition.
International Business Day is a free to attend conference and exhibition to be held at the HSBC Commercial Centre in Northampton on 24th June 2010. The event is targeted at local companies who are already involved in international trade or thinking of moving, or expanding, their business into foreign markets. As the government is encouraging UK businesses to think big and ‘export out of the recession’, the evidence suggests that although they may have the desire to do just that many companies ‘don’t prepare adequately and fail to fully understand all the components of international trade’ (Lesley Batchelor, Chair, Institute of Export and International Trade)

Designed as a one day course in international trade, this event presents a conference of experts in areas such as foreign trade, finance, import &export, customs & taxation, intellectual property, distribution and international marketing – in essence all the subjects that you need to consider when importing or exporting goods and services. A keynote presentation from Peter Hogarth, International Trade Director for UKTi East Midlands offers local businesses the chance to hear directly from one of the regions highest officers in the international trade arena.
The conference speakers that will follow are from government, private sector and regional trade associations all of whom will give up to date information, advice based on experience and case studies as well as outlining the support available to local companies to succeed in the international marketplace. There will also be an exhibition of local companies offering services relevant to international business such as hotels, corporate travel, accountancy and marketing. Representatives of Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, Business Link and the East Midlands International Trade Association will be on hand throughout the day as well as the international team from HSBC who are there to offer advice and support to the attendees.
An excellent opportunity for networking with companies, trade associations and service providers, the International Business Day is a must attend event for local businesses.
