Funding Opportunities for delivering Economic Development

Funding Opportunities for delivering Economic Development

NEL in partnership with Northamptonshire County Council are pleased to announce the launch of their Invitation to Apply for Grant Funding (IAGF) for 2009.

The purpose of the IAGF is to set out the economic development priorities that will be supported through funding devolved to Northamptonshire from the East Midlands Development Agency (emda). The document replaces the Prospectus of 2008 as part of a process introduced by emda and is being implemented in Northamptonshire for the first time.

The IAGF aims to target specific areas, interventions and projects relating to improving the quality of life in Northamptonshire and supporting the economic growth of the county. In particular, the IAGF will focus on those actions identified in the Strategic Northamptonshire Economic Action Plan (SNEAP) as transformational (1-6 below) and three additional themes critical to ensuring the sustainability of the economy:

1. Commercial sites and premises
2. Urban renaissance
3. Transport
4. Enterprise & Innovation
5. Learning & Skills
6. Branding & Marketing

7. Economic Inclusion
8. Cohesive Communities
9. Economic Renewal

Funding is available from April 2009; initial Expressions of Interest are required by 16th January 2009.
